Prime Minister himself launching the event nationwide from October 2
Nepal Telecom (NTC), the Nepal government-owned telecom company is set to launch Fourth Generation (4G) nationwide from October 2, 2019. The telecom had previously served 4G network in Kathmandu and Pokhara from January 1. After rigorous testing, NTC is finally ready to launch this most awaited 4G network nationwide in the presence of Prime Minister himself here in Kathmandu. Similarly, the Chief Minister of each province will be present in all the provinces, in separate programs.
What can we expect from 4G Network?
According to sources and test outcomes, the peak data speed of NTC 4G comes above 200 Mbps, which is possible with all of their highly advanced technologies. Similarly, NTC 4G will also provide high-quality voice calls.
So what is 4G?
There are many acronyms to twist your head around like CDMA, GSM, LTE, WiMax, and the list goes on. These are very famous and vividly seen when you are buying any new mobile sets. According to the radio sector of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU-R), the simplest meaning is that the “G” in 4G means by “generation,” since 4G is the fourth generation of mobile data technology.

Network companies are already testing the fifth generation of mobile broadband connectivity, 5G, but there’s a lot still to work out, even as some phone manufacturers are beginning to unveil 5G capable devices.
